I am sorry you see it that way. I cannot say I agree with you that being unoriginal is the same thing as being stupid. The fact that a person chooses a religion to follow- and chooses faith- and ceases to examine his or her philosophy with the same degree of scrutiny as a confirmed skeptic is simply a lifestyle choice (this is NOT to say that all religious people do cease to inquire, but most people seem to. They have leaped, and the leap is over, the choice is made, the door is closed). I cannot equate it with stupidity. It take a great deal of ENERGY to think about philosophy all the time- it isn't stupid not to, it is merely expedient. It is a different way of looking at the world. I don't particularly respect unoriginality- but I would NEVER call it stupid.

I'm sure you meant that "prevaricate" in relation to the idea Ms. X expressed that telling someone they were incapable of thinking for themselves did not mean "stupid". Nothing personal. I'm sure that's what you meant. Name calling is so boring. LOL!! JLA
