BC School District First to Acquire
Centrinity's FirstClass Unified Messaging

Markham, ON - April 18, 2000 (5:37pm - Toronto Time) -- Centrinity Inc. (CDNX:
CTI) today announces that it has successfully completed its first sale of the
company's revolutionary FirstClass Unified Messaging (FirstClass UM) software
system to British Columbia's Richmond School District (RSD), a current user of
FirstClass Collaborative Classroom Gold (FirstClass CC Gold).

The core technology of Centrinity's unified messaging software gives users
maximum flexibility by enabling them to access messages generated by voice, fax
or electronic media through one unified mailbox - regardless of the network
connection device, communications protocol or pathway.

Centrinity will be announcing the details of its FirstClass UM marketing
program to its 8,000 existing customers worldwide. The program will include an
introductory, limited-time special offer. Customers can contact Centrinity to
enroll in the FirstClass UM program.

The company has a two-pronged marketing strategy: to roll out FirstClass UM to
existing FirstClass CC Gold and FirstClass Intranet Server Gold customers - as
an add-on option to FirstClass communication and collaboration capabilities,
and to new markets - through systems integrators, telcos and Application
Service Providers acting as licensed technology distribution partners.

Myles McGovern, Centrinity's President and CEO, commented: "Richmond School
District's decision to purchase FirstClass unified messaging is tangible
evidence of their confidence in Centrinity and the reliability of its products,
and our ongoing commitment to helping customers improve the productivity of
users who depend on network communities for information exchange."

"This FirstClass unified messaging installation will integrate communication
components such as voice mail, email and fax with RSD's Website and
collaborative areas such as parent conferences, school and teacher Web pages,
distance learning courses, professional development conferences, and other
administrative applications, on one platform," said Stewart Lynch, Director of
Instruction, Technology and Information Services, Richmond School District. "No
other unified messaging product in the world is based on core technology that
leverages one collaborative data store," he explained.

Richmond School District's FirstClass system supports 2,400 district employees
and 24,000 students in 55 sites. It also facilitates communication with the
broader community, including parents and others who wish to interact with
groups or individuals in the RSD. This installation incorporates Centrinity's
FCAS, or FirstClass Application Server, which enables users to integrate their
other systems and databases with FirstClass.

The Richmond School District sale will complement a FirstClass UM pilot that began in early April with one of North America's largest telecommunications service providers. The trial, which involves the telco's personnel across Canada, will evaluate the quality, content, functionality, marketability and flexibility of the FirstClass UM system.

Centrinity recently announced plans to
invest CDN$15 million in the launch of unified messaging and the development of
distribution channels.
