You're an honest person who isn't afraid to face even truths that you wish weren't, e-Bill! I laughed out loud when I read your sort-of-wistful message because I know exactly how you feel. I so disliked Kenneth Starr and the Starr investigation that in spite of it being obvious that Clinton was a pig, I felt myself wishing for a long time that some redeeming quality would emerge in time! I mean, there he was, President, and, oh, yuck.

(I don't mean to imply that any concerns you are acknowledging about Bush compare in magnitude to mine about Clinton.)

"Clinton is pandering. He's playing the racial card. He's hoping to inflame minorities so they'll go to the polls next fall and support Democrats."

"Clinton is a master manipulator. And he's using this emotional issue to further his own political agenda. Which is to mend his reputation before he leaves the White House. And to help his cronies in an election year by pandering to the politics of divisiveness."
