20-30% upside in the earnings yes, and I believe that is conservative. I don't know if the stocks will run up 20-30% upon the earnings being announced?

Like I said EVERY single analyst and EVERY single report knows earnings will be great. The market knows this and is anticipating it. Don't get me wrong I am long some EnP's but won't be real surprised to see em flat to down on the day they report "blowout" earnings.

JQP,
I believe a lot of what happens when earnings come out will depend on whether they meet or exceed expectations. Most of the earnings listed on Yahoo etc still reflect meagre performances for most, so it may be that the other JQP's around the country have not got the story as well as you have from analyst reports. Oil stocks haven't gotten the attention of most 6 pack investors yet as techs have done, even after the tech beating on Friday. The common man on the street has no idea NG may be in short supply, he's just glad he doesn't have to pay more than a buck fifty to gas up his SUV. They also think that energy problems are "fixed" with the OPEC agreement. Yeah, the US sure told them!
(VBG)

If the sector starts sprouting a lot of earnings above forecasts then Boom 2K will really get going. If they only meet expectations and forecasts then sideways for awhile?

While I should have bought NG E&P's today, I bought some more Fabs and drillers dogs instead. No reason other than they were laying on the floor like they were dead and I believe in the Resurrection. One consolation is I have very little on margin currently, so there's plenty of buying power left.

BTW, I sold off my gold stock this morning for a teeny, the time isn't here yet, when I saw the dollar go back up there was no choice. I can't be too early with gold on the way in or out and have to think short term while the bull market lives, though my gold fever was glistening upon my brow for awhile there, VBG.

Best Regards,

Roebear
