OT: English is the primary language of the internet if you look at the language distribution of present users. It will continue to be the dominant language for atleast the next decade if you move out of antiquated "mother tongue" statistics, to 'primary' language and 'language competence' counting of potential users. Bilingualism (globally) is a bigger reality than you seem to believe, and getting more so; with English as the second of an "equally competent" pair. If you look at the language of the information available out there you will find that it is lopsidedly English; and don't expect acceptable machine translation to arrive for atleast another decade. A few years down the road the language of streaming media in terms of sheer volume will be Mandarin Chinese with English and Spanish in a dead heat for the second spot. The language of commerce around that streaming media in tongues will again be primarily English - that's the nature of the global-economy beast. Like it or not, the lingua franca of the global middle class is, if you will, anglais; this very board is a perfect example of that. I'm not really concerned with what language everybody here speaks when murmuring sweet nothings to whoever, but when it comes to reaching a wider audience of a specific kind, everyone uses English. I can jabber away in Esperanto if I want but I'll have to settle for a limited audience. You can parse this microcosm and apply the dynamics with ease to the whole. Imo, of course, all jmo.
