In many real products technology is a lesser driver than the business and organizational structure. DSL winning the broadband battle? Has the DSL folks in Bell Atlantic win the battle with their 'voice' colleague yet? do you think RBOCs care that much about selling DSL before they get some long distance play? RBOCs have a different set of priorities.

Ultimately I think it will be more of a territory partition, with minimum overlapping between DSL dominant area and cable modem areas, somewhat like what we have with the MSOs, so head start matters.

Thanks for the link.

Broadband revenue for TXN nearly doubled in the current quarter, due to the increased production of chips for DSL and cable modems. This could bode well for ATHM's upcoming earnings since they would receive a disproportional share of the cable side because of their footprint. That is, unless you believe that DSL hogged more than their fair share.
