RE:"Needless to say, I share your sentiments re Intel's earnings tomorrow. For the first time I can remember, members of both threads are really pulling for each other since both need to look healthy to please the street. I think that anything less than .90 (includes the tax rebate of .17) will be bad news. TXN's earnings will help tomorrow am. I heard that NAS futures were up >200."

Seems like the absence of one particular troublemaker has brought the two threads together.

Isn't consensus .86 with the .17? $.90 would be good but I'll take anything over .86.

Can you spearfish down there?

Jim

<both need to look healthy to please the street.>
Intel will look "healthy", that is for sure. Don't worry.
With $5B in stocks is must be easy to look ok
with little selling.

However, recent news about packaging "problems"
are so serious that I am about to say that
Intel is finished in the microprocessor business...
Saving 5 bucks on plastic packaging was brilliant
idea. Stay tuned.
