See, this reply is what I call a good metaphor. Whereas your first try was not.
This reminds me of an old Sufi-story:
"In his dream Nasrudin is given gold coins. He sees the givers hand, but when it comes to nine gold coins, the giver stops.
'I want ten,' cries Nasrudin out so loudly, that he wake up himself. He realize then, that all the gold coins has now disappeared, closes his eyes again and whisper: 'Okay, give them back. I am also satisfied with nine.'
