Be happy that you didn't upgrade an NT to Win2K - I did that and had to reinstall everything... At least a Linux installation can be fixed.

Yes, but an upgrade installation of Red Hat 6.1 to 6.2 should have been like installing a set of Windows 98 security patches or a WinNT service pack, not like a major OS upgrade. I mean, it screwed up the module loading (which looks like it uses the kernel version in a directory name) going from kernel 2.2.14-1.1.0 to 2.2.14-5.0.
