And the issue is that that for a system that physically fit into a single time domain the idea might be ok. Even a single multi-chip RIMM is very, very different. <Is DDR going to go to a 256-bit data path to stay current with RDRAM at 32 bits wide?> To stay current with _what_? The one who cut out the third RIMM slot? <I heard from an ex-Rambus employee that one of the JEDEC members accused the Rambus engineers of faking the test when they demoed the 500Mhz version of RDRAM to the councilmembers. The simple answer to the good-looking signals is that you guys have no clue how to use basic measurement tools and which properties those measurement tools must possess to provide adequate informaion about reality. I saw many very "clean signals" that delivered garbage information <g>. <So if Rambus succeeds at what they've said they're going to do then..> If. Big _IF_. <p.s.
