What does a company do, that has a business plan saying: We need to have at least 200 customers per web-server. We upgrade to Windows 2000.

When they've done that, they will find out, that this is not possible. First, Microsoft wouldn't even admit that the problem existed. It's interesting, that you have to use several days on persuading Microsoft that your business has a huge problem before they even think about helping you.

I it was Linux based, you could hire IBM or the small shop around the corner (at least in Europe) and tell them: Make it work, NOW! And it will work within a day or two, and you can continue serving your customers.

But OK - the competition from Linux already made Microsoft handle security issues much more seriously, and as an IT buyer, I hope competition improves product quality and services. As a stock investor I get more and more surprised about how americans view these things.
