You know what works? Coyote urine! The problem is, aside from sprinkling it about being a sort of horrifying thing to do conceptually, it lasts only fleetingly, is very expensive in the quantities required, and when I told a friend about it, he looked at me in horror and asked if I knew how they got it from the coyotes. I proposed that maybe they disguised themselves as shrubs and ran after them with little bowls, but he said no, it was a cruel process, and I shouldn't buy that.

I do have hundreds and hundreds of daffodils and foxgloves, although the latter have an odd habit of disappearing, and not every other year, just forever. There must be others plants distasteful to deer. But I do hate to let them choose my flowers. I think I will do what Ish suggests and shoot at them with a bb gun. I could get into that. I'll sit on the porch and put my feet up on the railing and chew on a piece of straw and just wait for them to show themselves and SHOOT AT THEM, HAHAHA.
