OH......but they do. Maybe not to you, but to many professional traders, and to the investing/trading public who use it for a guide to how the market will open.

Actually, they mean quite a bit more during the trading day, but are a good indication of opening prices in the morning.

If they don't mean squat, then why do they correlate so highly as a directional vector with the S&P index, or for the most part, opening general market direction? You can't deny that correlation.
