I think it is wonderful that the University of Texas and George W. Bush will rehabilitate and forgive former communists and spongers like Olasky and let them spout their religious fantasies on public money. I think Bush is also a as yet unconvicted perjurer who should be generous in forgiving suspected perjurers. I think Clinton will be grateful for that if Bush wins. Chuck Colson is another excellent example of a redeemed criminal (I suspect Olasky of perjury) who benefitted from soft treatment in country-club jails. I think the pardoning of Nixon and Reagan's perjurious secretry of defense was an excellent idea. It would have been terrible to have those men gang-raped in prison.
I think all of these excellent ex-criminals show how important forgiveness and lack of real punishment is good for society. Nixon became an elder stateman, instead of a crushed and broken prisoner. Bush is going to be president. Colson converts criminals in religious fanatics. Olasky might become the keeper of Bush conscience, Lord Chancellor, or even Pope.
