Briefing's take on CHTR from 3/22:

22-Mar-00 15:05 ET
Charter Communications (CHTR) 15 1/2 +9/16: Back in December of 1999, Briefing.com issued a report on CHTR noting that when the momentum stocks finally cooled off CHTR would take-off... It hasn't happened - at least not yet... In fact, CHTR set a new 52-wk low last week... Though the stock's price action is downright ugly, none of the underlying fundamentals have changed... CHTR remains well positioned to exploit the growing demand for increased bandwidth; the stock continues to trade at a discount to its peers (on a p/s basis); its cash flow and EBITDA growth is solid; customer growth is impressive; and the management team is strong. Add to these factors a deeply oversold technical tone and the stock looks attractive for both the short- and long-term... Short-term, we expect a technical bounce to the 18-19 area... Longer-term, we still look for CHTR to make a move on the 30 area, though it is likely to take 12- to 18-months to get there given considerable overhead supply and market's preference for momentum over value. - RW
