Hello AJ,

> Could we suffer the same fate?

This is actually some very interesting news! I do not think that WPNE has the ability to "suffer the same fate" since WPNE (and others) are responsible for the eroding market of companies like PictureTel!

PictureTel has been selling proprietary hardware boxes for huge sums of money for quite some time. Yes, they have some standards based protocols in their products, but they sell very expensive dedicated hardware boxes ...

What is now entering the "mainstream" market are software solutions, which run on standard operating systems (Linux, UNIX, Windows) and on standard PCs and PC Servers ... from companies like White Pine!

I believe that in the current market, PictureTel has been the largest competitor of White Pine ... and their demise, IMHO, will only mean good things for WPNE.

I'd love to hear others opinions ...
