Haim, for the same reason that there are trading halts when the Dow falls by 10%, but not when it goes up by 10%. the former is considered a catastrophe, the latter about the best thing that could possibly happen.

no-one is interested that the people buying the hyped stocks at outrageous prices will burn their fingers at some point. as long as prices continue to go higher, the world is a-ok. the usual method is not to ask whether the run-up was justified in the first place, but who the hell can we blame for the collapse.

note the same reasoning was employed by the journalist interviewing you. he didn't want to know what caused the outrageous bubble. he wanted to know who would make the best scapegoat regarding its sudden deflation.
