TRIIBoy, I respect your opinions and have noted many of your excellent calls. I won't post anything else here on the subject, but think CPQ may be about ready to take out 30 permanently. I think you may be missing the impact of CPQ's global operations. FWIW my target has been 45-50 this year. Good luck whatever you do - sf.

RESEARCH ALERT-Compaq raised to strong buy

NEW YORK, April 19 (Reuters) - Wit SoundView analyst Mark Specker on Wednesday raised his rating on Compaq Computer Corp. (NYSE:CPQ) to strong buy from buy and set a six-month price target of $40 on the stock.

-- Mark's earnings estimates remain unchanged at $1.14 per share for fiscal 2000 and $1.49 per share for fiscal 2001.

-- Shares of Compaq up 7/16 to 28-1/16.
