From the Yahoo thread:

Fastest production machine! Read the Benchmark conclusions here:

hardwarecentral.com

Here's an excerpt:

"Memory Performance : SiSoft Sandra 2000

RDRAM finally showed some of its muscle here, with the highest memory throughput we?ve ever seen on any memory architecture. The dual RDRAM channels on the i840 chipset really show off its benefits and low latency. "

Highest memory throughput they've EVER SEEN! When clock speeds come into the mid GHZ range in production systemes - look out!

More excerpts: "...256 MB of ECC PC800 RDRAM; it is fast, very fast even, we?ve never seen memory scores this high..."

In summary: "..., if you?re into CAD/CAM, 3D graphics, high end programming, maintain large databases or just want a top-notch workstation, without being restricted to running Windows, but also wish to have the capacity to run Unix, Solaris or Linux, then this system might well fit your needs. It?s blistering fast, has mindboggling 3D graphics, stunning harddisk throughput, and CPU horsepower to spare. It simply is one of the fastest machines we?ve had the pleasure of exchanging disks with, period. "

The future is Rambus - buy now, get paid later

Pomp, no new readings, everything seems clear until Thursday late in the afternoon (inflextion around 2:OO to 2:30 PM). RMBS got within $10 of the top of what I consider its current range, I expect between here and the end of the week that top will be challenged. I am not on the bus right now, but if they beat it back to the $140-$150 area before then, I may jump on for a very short ride.
