[PR extolling the virtues of CHY's software product: Liberty 64]

Monday July 24, 10:13 am Eastern Time

Company Press Release

Manex Discovers the Freedom of Liberty 64

ALAMEDA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 2000--Liberty
64(r), a film effects software application from Chyron
Graphics, a subsidiary of Chyron Corporation (NYSE: CHY -
news) has been playing to rave reviews with Manex Visual
Effects, a division of Manex Entertainment. The paint and
animation design software has demonstrated its superior
firepower on a number of film projects for Manex, including a
tall order on short notice for the action/romance feature
``Romeo Must Die.''

``We had a time limit of two days to perform rig and wire
removal for 15 shots,'' says freelance 2D digital artist
Hillary Covey, working with Manex on the project. ``The
efficiency of Liberty 64, as well as its compatibility with
other software, makes it a great solution that allowed us to
get this tough assignment done on schedule.''

Created to operate on the Silicon Graphics® and Windows NT®
platforms, the Liberty 64 software's 64 bit canvasses feature
seamless paint and animation, motion tracking, enhanced
rotoscoping, real-time video streaming, 3D pasting, and a
comprehensive range of creative tools designed specifically
for film designers. ``For me, Liberty 64 is necessary for
working on large images,'' Covey notes. ``For working on a 6K
file, Liberty is the only software that can handle it.

``It's always very smooth, with no delay. A lot of software
uses so much RAM that when you run it and it actually comes
time to work on the image, it becomes too much and the
computer crashes. That never happens with Liberty 64, which
is even more important than ever with everything going up to
16 bits now.''

Liberty 64's highly intuitive interface was also built for
speed. ``Many things that take three steps to do with most
other software only require one in Liberty,'' says Covey.
``It's really laid out so that you don't have to wrestle with
it to do something - just push one button and it makes a
beeline to your function.''

For everything from integrating paint to image processing,
color correction, morph, and motion tracking, plus
rotoscoping, masking, distortion effects, and compositing,
Liberty 64 is becoming part of a quickly growing list of
feature film projects. Covey has tapped it for a long list of
her projects, which includes ``Independence Day'' and
``Godzilla.''

LIBERTY 64 DESIGN SOFTWARE BUILDS A FAN BASE

Covey's reliance on Liberty 64 at Manex Visual Effects
continues a trend for her that shows no sign of letting up.
``Wherever I go, I negotiate to get a license of Liberty
there,'' she says. ``I know a lot of other design software,
but there isn't any that I believe in as much. Liberty 64 is
solid.''

[CHY provides graphics solution for ESPN 2000 X Games.]

Wednesday August 9, 7:04 am Eastern Time

Press Release

2000 X Games, ESPN Gets Creative With Chyron

Total Chyron 'Platform' Specified for Graphics Suite

MELVILLE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 9, 2000--Chyron
Corporation (NYSE: CHY - news), a leading provider of
broadcast hardware, software and services spanning television
and the Internet, today announced that ESPN will broadcast
the 2000 X Games using all major systems from Chyron
Graphics, a subsidiary of Chyron Corporation.

ESPN's uniquely uncomplicated solution was to unify as many
components as possible under a single software and hardware
platform. As a result, Chyron is providing six Duets®, two
dedicated to Chyron's Lyric® graphics and animation software
and four to Chyron's Liberty® paint and animation software.
In addition Chyron will also provide Aprisa® 250 Stillstore/
Clipstore, an Aprisa 200 Digital Disk Recorder and an Aprisa
300 Video Replay System, as well as two Chyron iNFiNiT!® CGs.
To further maximize performance for the Liberty animation
software, Chyron has installed DPS' dpsReality cards and
Medea VideoRaid 6/225 RT arrays. Gigabit Ethernet will handle
high-speed data transfers between systems.

``Chyron's NT-based Duet is what makes this project
possible,'' says Joe Flynn, Broadcast Graphics Technical
Consultant to the X Games. ``Not only can we take advantage
of the common hardware to provide redundancy and networked
task sharing, but we can make use of other NT software tools
that forced us to rely heavily on exporting and importing in
the past. It all happens inside the box now.''

``By having an NT platform across the board, we have
consistency and uniformity from one device to another.
Ordinarily, we'd be running on several different types of
specialized hardware with proprietary software each of which
having its own little quirk that you have to massage to make
it cooperate. We're betting that in the very near future, the
unified hardware/software suite will be the standard. It's a
better way to approach things all the way around.''

The X Games graphics suite will be part of a dedicated
production installation, on call to give 24/7 broadcast
support to the Mecca of skateboarding, surfing and BMX
biking. ``It's a big project,'' Flynn notes. ``The X Games
graphics suite will provide a full range of graphic content
to the live host broadcast and feed several edit suites. The
goal is to be capable of responding to the whim and fancy of
every member of the X games working body.''

Besides offering a comprehensive range of graphics products,
the long-standing relationship between ESPN and Chyron --
from the studio to countless remote location productions -
made for a natural fit in this fresh approach to live
graphics. ``To incorporate everything we need into one or two
types of hardware is what we ultimately want to achieve,
''Joe Flynn concludes. ``It makes sense to go to the people
that established the industry standard in the first place. We
push them and they push back. We evolve and they rush up to
meet it.''

The 2000 X Games will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC
from August 19th - August 30th.
