Hi Mike, yes it was Dave who brought fSONA to this thread initially, and I must confess that I've only looked at their product in a superficial manner thus far. I hope to line up the viable players that I am aware of (including fSONA) in a comparative way in order to evaluate the landscape of available products in this space, sometime this week. I suspect that we'll see some similar evaluations in the trades before long, like in Network Magazine or Network Computing Magazine. You say, with sufficient cause I believe: "Overall, I'm not sure what to make of an IR solution." I think it would be prudent that we "don't" draw any general conclusions about IR systems, since sufficient variability exists between them to warrant a more applicatoin-specific and focused view of each player's wares and suggested architectures.
