The comparison to picks and shovels, road builders or steering wheel manufacturers is flawed. All of those "keystones" could be competitively priced, commoditized and delivered by almost anyone. PMCS has a proprietary lock on its chip designs and is in essence a software company with the license to deliver its software on a chip to its customer for the entire duration of the product cycle. A decent analogy, but doesn't cover the power of the franchise. (This doesn't mean there aren't competitors including AMCC and BRCM. But where PMCS has design wins, they won't be replaced.) TD
