Hindery sounds genuinely "driven" by his convictions. My take is that GBLX is being set up as 3 distinct companies
instead of "divisions". I still don't quite get what the
company is trying to achieve as an end product. It started
as a cable company, now has cable and telephone business
along with information/service centers. Add the Global Marine cable laying ship business. No wonder investors
are confused about what this company offers. Does anyone
have a "mission statement" about what the company's primary
focus is or will be. This company needs to focus its'
efforts on 1 primary task, once it has mastered that it
should branch out from that base. Right now it is too
fragmented and unwieldy, IMO. This is one reason why I think
the assets will be sold off as each reaches fruition or
no longer has additive valuation. If they want to truly be
a global telecom player they will be butting heads with the
big "proprietary" contenders. Open access appears to be the
way to go but it will really take the US govt passing laws
for this to be mandated. Whomever is 1st with an "open access" system will take the lead, the issue is how long
will it take before open access becomes reality.
