Indeed it is very easy to get detailed LINUX help by simply posting to a mailing list.

"Do you have that server back up? We're losing business, you know."

"Not yet, boss. I'm still waiting for an answer from the mailing list."

"If it's not back up by three, you're fired."

By professional support I mean hiring a company to ensure, that everything you might need in regards with your Linux is done professionally, not by volunteers.
