OTOTOT Dave B. once said owning Rambus was better than sex. In the interest of providing a little humor to our sometimes cranky thread, and providing some insight for Dave into what owing Rambus can feel like at times, I offer the following.

Pomp, I'm in server chipsets, and to tell you the truth, Rambus' prospects in servers really doesn't look all that great. I have little visibility into desktop chipsets, so it's hard for me to see how dedicated Intel is to Rambus on the desktop.

The INTC CC confirmed for me that Intel is trying to kick DDR upstairs into servers, leaving the desktop and workstation markets wide open for Rambus penetration. Before the CC, that possibility was just a hunch.
