The very short answer (this is my second edit after about a 2 page diatribe that I could repost if I really really had to) is NO, I don't see an overcapacity issue currently.

I think bandwidth pricing is going to keep falling though which is a bad thing, but demand should continue to pick up.
Also, as better Optical Switches are being put on the market (like Sycamore's (SCMR)), we may start to see some overcapacity.

A company that is really neat in the Optical Equipment space is XROS at XROS.com, they have the most incredible optical cross-connect system utilizing MEMS (micro-mechanical-electrical) components.
