Translation: RDRAM costs 10 times more than the CPU in a Timna system.


Succint yet pithy response. Yes, the cost of RDRAM is still a problem. BTW, Dell's cost to upgrade from 128M to 256M on the B Series is now down to $480; it's $400 to upgrade 128M (PC800 non-ECC) to 256M; and it's $395 to upgrade 128M (PC800 ECC) to 256M on the Precision workstation. Still high, but lower than the costs last week. The trend is our friend.
