Very strange, I've been thinking that Etrade and the internet as a whole have improved a lot in the last year. I made 30 trades on Etrade over the last 3 days, it was only down a few times that I remember. As usual, it was slow getting fills at the open and in afterhours, but executions were timely. Bridge was also down once or twice, for short periods. Quote.com had many more problems. This is the first "crash" I've seen that online service and/or the entire internet did not fail completely for long periods on time. I have two internet service providers, just in case. Did not have to switch at all this week.

I haven't had any trouble with Datek yet. I have had ETRADE for 4 years, but I won't be doing regular trading with them anymore.

I too have dropped my daytrading off because of either system problems or customer service problems.. I was doing 200 to 300 a month.. now maybe 20 to 30 trades per month.. part of that also stems from wanting to spend more time w/ the family too though.. which has been VERY rewarding ; for those obsessed with trading.. I highly recommend using etrade.. you'll get so frustrated that you'll quit daytrading and spend more time with your loved ones.. Hmmm ... maybe I need to send Etrade a big THANK YOU for helping me with my personal life?! jim jim
