Hi Scott, thanks for the follow up. I don't think that T would deliver cable modem services at this late date unless they upgraded to HFC first. If you've called them for a date and they haven't been able to commit to one yet, I'd say that they are still a ways off in providing it to you. The new provider will very likely go for the entire bundle of services. I.e., they will likely attempt to offer voice telephony, program video AND Internet service delivery. Maybe even utility meter reading too, at some point, if a power company is at the helm as they say.

Yes. There are a number of startup CLECs and fiber contractors that I am aware of who are making a killing in a similar manner, by targeting the nation's 3rd and 4th tier cities and towns, which are in many cases locations where none of the majors care to go until they've saturated the larger tier 1's and 2's.
