re: I'll bide my time until after the election when the honeymoon period will begin.

You are not alone in that thinking I have heard that from others.

re: dreaded" Sept-Oct period

I actually think that would be a good to buy myself, with time frames being shorten as much as they have been. Waiting till after the election could be a little late but at least safer. The presidential cycle has not died and we will get the glow of the honeymoon, especially if Bush wins.

re: But if anyone thinks we're just headed back to Naz 5000 in a V formation

I agree, we are at the upper channel of the downtrend as of today, the bears have a feeling of power, and others are still nervous, selling will start soon, end of Wed. into Thursday with the three day weekend coming up adding to the desire to not own stocks could be the start of it.

I'm have reduce my holding across the board, I have no margin for the first time in over 10 years. It's a very dangerous market, but I would not be surprised that we didn't retest and made a steady climb back, heck nothing would surprise me right now.
