I don't want to paint with too wide a brush here, but I think many of the sentiments of most "anti-religious/spiritual" folks are based on a host of static, long-held prejudices that were formed early in their lives--based (most likely) on childhood traumas from forced indoctrination and/or the limited perspective of quasi-spiritual witnessing of "translative" (referring to the Wilber essay) practitioners of Christianity.

It's akin to listening to Muzak and condemning music.

One of the verses of the Tao Te Ching talks about how people, like trees, whose branches become rigid, are most susceptible to breakage. It's best to keep our minds and beliefs limber and pliable as long as possible in that flexibility allows us maximum growth, and resilience in the face of life's storms. Thinkers like Wilber help me do just that.
