Vancouver may still be a rogue exchange - but on Toronto and elsewhere I'm sure a pp has to bear some relationship to the current market price. Why would Homestake pay $5 per share and only wind up with 3% of the company. What possible advantage would that give them? And it would make the shares all the more expensive if they want to acquire more.
