[OT] Surprising that this forum has a whopping 88 posts despite the fact that it has yet to price for its own IPO. Especially Silicon Investor, what I consider to be a dying message board community. I find it interesting that a lot of Chicago locals are here, like Glenn, Edwin, and myself.

I found your posts about the local gov't interesting, Edwin. I've found that the local gov't, led by Governor George Ryan and Secretary of State Jesse White, is unbelievably corrupt. We're certainly not a New Orleans but have a lot to be concerned about nonetheless. I wonder if DVIN has to grease the local wheels of the bureaucratic wheel to get anything done. The gov't is incinerating and bold initiatives for technology are unlikely to get their due attention, I question the governor's (but not necessarily the mayor's) committment to fueling the technology-led economic boom.

PS Speaking of Chicago, Methode's (METHA) fiber optics subsdiary, Stratos Lightwave, filed for an IPO. Based on my casual research, METHA looks a bit undervalued, despite the stagnant sales growth of its core operations.
