Before the Bell - Qualcomm climbs after results

NEW YORK, April 19 (Reuters) - Shares in Qualcomm Inc. (NasdaqNM:QCOM - news)
rose in pre-opening trade on Wednesday after the mobile communications technology
company posted quarterly earnings that beat Wall Street forecasts.

Qualcomm was at 120-1/2 on the Instinet electronic broker system, up from a Tuesday
close of 112-3/16.

After markets closed on Tuesday, Qualcomm reported pro forma net income of 26 cents a share excluding acquisition-related
charges. Analysts had expected 24 cents a share, according to research firm First Call/Thomson Financial.
