I can understand the problems with the practical ownership of a large quanity of physical gold/silver but am not sure I understand why it is not safe.

Surely it would be safer than a certificate that could be worthless???

HORSE PUCKEY! And uttered by a white collared mining exec who never met a piece of paper gold he didn't like.

That argument "i.e., that it is hard for one to gold safely" is dumb, DUMB, DUMB!!!!

How does one store stock certificates?
Heirloom jewelry?
Rolex Watches?
Diamond rings, watches, brooches, pendants?
How does one store family pictures?
Signed baseballs, basketballs, golf trophies?
Original copies of the "Constitution?"
A Monet, Rembrandt, Dali?

People have been safely storing valuables for eons, and doing it well. Storing Gold is no different!!!
Unless you are trying to make an argument for it being a "currency" because its liquidity is equal to "green paper,"
baht, yen, euros or even them cannuck loonies?

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEehaw!
