George Gilbert: Kevin Spoor [the fund's co-manager] is our guy who does EMC. I'm not an
expert, but he had pointed out that EMC is experiencing some deceleration in most of its business.
Deceleration is OK as long as it's not too abrupt. It's a gradual deceleration. But again, here's a
company that today is at $127. It was below $110 last week and had a nice pop. It peaked at
$145. They're supposed to earn ballpark of $1.44 this year and $1.89 next year, so the next 12
months' earnings would be someplace in the range of $1.50 to $1.55. That's a multiple of 80 times
for a company that looks to be experiencing decelerating growth that will be in the 25% to 30%
range. Again, it's not quite bargain basement. A little steep.
