Does anyone know what the rules are governing using investment gains as part of on-going income? Qualcomm is starting to have a pretty large stable of investments but the $250m gain was listed as a one-time gain. This is in contrast to Intel and TXN who both used investment gains to beat estimates this quarter....

Just curious....They are generating so much cash that their investment portfolio is going to get huge. As one of the analysts stated last year....Qualcomm is a lot like a bank (of course he was using it as an insult).
