I'd never put on an Elvin Bishop CD but I've seen
him live 3 or 4 times and have never been disappointed.
In 1980 he played the Ballroom at Nassau Community College for free.
It was a wild show. He was one of the 1st people to go wireless and almost nobody
there, including me, even knew it was possible. Elvin walked out of the ballroom
and into the Student Union area while he was playing. Today it wouldn't be a big
deal but back then it was totally wild.

I just realized I have two Martin Taylor CDs I didn't listen to yet.
On one of them Spirit of Django he covers Metheny's and Lyle Mays' James.
I don't think I know the tune but that's besides the point. It take major balls
for another guitarist to cover a song Pat Metheny wrote, I can't wait to listen
to it after closing.
