New CFO

True story. Called a friend who has ties with a somewhat prominent and quite well regarded Investment Banker in NY, asked him to get an opinion of this news as a favor. Response was as follows:

"This guy sounds like he was a middle management cog from Microsoft, but my first reaction would be why would the Go network not hire someone from Disney first who would know the company better." (Hello, AOL hired Bob Pittman before they took off in 1996) Then he said wait a second, he thought he just heard something like that the other day. Sure enough, Mark Handler was named Executive VP for GO.com, a 15 year Disney veteran.

My friend explained to him the difference, and he said neither he nor his colleagues had ever heard of any Go2Net Network and promptly apologized. End of conversation.

Kinda fits consistent with the lower level of volume on that news this A.M., nice!

Coverage, coverage, who has the coverage....
