Additional advanced features included on the RS 8000 platform enable further capabilities for Knology. The web-cache redirect feature of the RS 8600 allows Knology to keep copies of frequently accessed web pages local to subscribers to improve web response times and reduce the load on the core network. Future plans include terminating customer's cable modem connections directly on the RS 8600 providing high-speed residential and business Internet access.
