Thanks to everyone for the options info.

The handbook was mailed along with the forms. I don't know how they would know if I read it or not. So I guess I won't be writing options although I hope I can get level 2 without waiting too long. I'm not interested in writing covered calls on AMD (the only stock that I have more then 100 shares of) unless options that are signifigantly more out of the money are added. Well maybe I will at least get margin privliges and use that to increase my AMD position about 20%. I don't think I would be at much risk of a margin call by doing this. BTW - You say level 3 requires a margin account and a large equity balance. What qualifies as large? I'm fairly sure that my balance does not.

Tim

Kenneth Lee:

See it hit $78-15/16's a while ago...anew high for the day...This AMD wants to go much much higher...Looks like the INTC and IBM negative pall is short lived with respect to its effect on AMD...Been a long long time since I've seen a stock showing so strongly both technically and fundamentally at the same time...My money is already placed according to what I expect to be the outcome of all indicators lining up so positively and in unison...Really excited about the prospects of AMD closing over $80 in the near term!

<< If you are new to options. You won't be getting Level 3 soon. You may get Level 1 after reading the handbook (required by law). After a probational period, you may apply for level 2 (they require you to read that damn book again). Level 3 varies from broker to broker. Some review your option trading history. Some require years in trading options. Level 3 requires a margin account and a large equity balance. >>

Hehe, I got level 2 right away in 2 days without reading any book. (well I got the book a week after I started trading options). Though I may have some limits into what percentage of my portfolio is allowed to be in options. However, I'm probably about 15% right now because I've done so well on them.
