Yes, I understood you as saying trash talk in public is worse than private. I disagree--trash is trash, public or private. I suggested that private trash may be worse since it may give the false impression that the person doesn't talk trash when they really do. My real point is it doesn't matter--if anyone talked trash it was wrong and there is, in my opinion, no reason to get into 'public' vs 'private'. That debate obscures the real issue, I think, which is trash stinks.

On the matter of the "scum of the earth" statement: I don't like that either. Of course. You didn't have to ask me that, though. Eh? <g>
