It has a lot to do with when your orders finally reached the trading floor. By the time the specialist received yours, price dropped and that explains the lower prices. In another extreme, I have heard from a friend that he placed a market order on a stock that are halted. He put the order in well before the market open. He did not get the best price nor the opening price. The price he got is many points below.
