Interesting concept but the consumer will demand a flexible and open format which will allow music to be transferred from office to car to home stereo to walkman etc, etc. If the major record labels don't facilitate this consumers will keep on ripping cd's on their computers and programs like napster will keep turning up.

FYI While the big record co's delay, E-music keeps making inroads into the MP3 downloadable music market by continueing to purchase music rights and small record companies. Smart strategy.
