JDN, except excessive valuation all over the market (including MVIS). It may a take a "process" of slowly lowering expectation to bring prices down, but for the time being, MVIS is behaving quite nicely with not too much overhead supply. I think tomorrow should be a better day for the market in general.

Again, But ! "Economy good" is part of the problem. If the blunt instrument of interest rates is required to slow it down (and the rush this week back into the market makes this seem likely) then we could yet be in for lower lows. The 6-month COMP chart is not a pretty sight right now.

I don't subscribe to the Elliott Wave lows around 1900 I've seen mentioned, but I'd be very surprised (and happy) if we don't revisit the low 3000s, at least, some time in the next two months. People just did not get scared enough last week, imho. Yes, the margin players (self shamefully included) were crapping themselves, but the "buy-and-hold" crowd could yet be shaken out if we see further turbulence. If last year's tech gains look in jeopardy people will finally forget about tax planning and sell to preserve some of those gains.

A lot of those great earnings are boosted by investment gains, by the way. This might make for some shaky comparisons in the coming year, unless we do see a firmer recovery.
