Mason

As you know Im taking some time away from the market (thread) but I did want to respond your your post to me in a short way. After reading your post as well as the below linked article;

moneycentral.msn.com

I think that buying technically induced buy signals at extreme bottoms followed by fast profit taking is the way for people that dont trade options ect. Im one who does not FWIW.

An example of this is my last Friday purchase of RFMD in the $80 area during the max sell-off and my selling of same on the following Monday at $97. I didnt catch the exact top or bottom but I did make about $17 a share.

Now where IS that sun-tan oil?

Steven Frenkel, market strategist with investment bank Ladenburg Thallman is targeting 2729 in the Nasdaq, and if that level is exceeded, he could see an extended bear market with the Nasdaq eventually falling to 1990.

Frenkel recommends shorting Phone.com (PHCM:Nasdaq), VeritcalNet (VERT:Nasdaq); BroadVision (BVSN:Nasdaq), i2 Technologies (ITWO:Nasdaq), Art

When these guys come out and say,"I've mortgaged my house to the hilt and I've sold these issues short, watch how much money I'll make". I might listen. <gg>

Those are insane recommendations. I hope that anyone who follows that dude has their passport in good order. TO call that irresponsible is a dramatic understatement. I agree that the sector is far from out of the woods, but that is not the way to address it.

Could have a selective retail rally at close today imHHHo. Big boys will dismantle it if it occurs on monday after open. Anything rising toward close will probably be strength monday and related to earnings tuesday
