Trindy, yesterday AMAT was UP 16 points for no good reason (except tape painting of course), so that's not really a surprise. as i have mentioned in the past, in a higher interest rate environment (don't let the treasuries fool you - corporate yields are way up) the semis are the last group to go. right at the top of their cycle they are usually the most crowded trades around - like now for instance. how do you recognize the semi cycle top? that's easy: when analysts begin telling you that THIS cycle will last much longer than the previous ones, or that in fact there is no more cycle. regards, hb
