johnd -- <<"For shorts it got be good idea to cover.">> Not yet,, it still looks like they are in the drivers seat,, Not looking for much tomorrow as traders head for the holiday exits.. mkt closed Fri so why should they cover yet? If they went short at 100 there seems just as much a chance to go down as up from here. MSFT hardly participated in the run up but easily came down,, now think of those short from 115 - 120,, Unless they shorted at 80 - 82 the smart move is to hold until the direction changes again for certain...

You keep bringing up analyst which would include Fund Mgrs. The interpretation of a strong buy from these sources a lot of times translate into "help me, I got my clients stuck in 1 million shares of this stock, I want out". If you were representing a lot of clients and the stock was down, would'nt you say the same thing. I would'nt expect them to downgrade any stock they were stuck in to a strong sell. Did'nt listening to these analyst get you stuck in your present predicament. JH
