Art, you shouldn't use the one time gain in the PE computation. However, the gain does flow right through to book value and increases it by approx 25%.

All in all, I thought it was a tremendous call. We are only meeting 60% of the demand because of capacity constraints (there is a downside to this as it allows competition potentially to make share gains) and Eli said their goals are comparable sequential growth for the rest of the year. I figure that if he tells analysts that then it is almost a done deal and Aus' 40% gains are not out of the realm of possibilities.

Happy Passover to all who celebrate.

Art,

You said...

If this wasn't a blowout report, then I don't know what blowout means. Positively the most optimistic report I've seen from any of the more than 40 companies I follow.

I tend to agree, but I don't follow 40 companies. The report is encouraging, indeed.

Fantastic Fact #1

Fantastic Fact #2

SanDisk total MB production nearly quadrupled last year despite the Taiwan earthquake and a period of low production yield. This is a direct result of the transition from 64Mbit to 256Mbit/D2 technology.

Fantastic Fact #3

"A whole new generation is discovering the time- and cost-efficiency of CompactFlash: instead of buying roll after roll of photographic film, they can reuse a single CompactFlash card over a lifetime."
