Hard for me to answer completely, but... it sounds like they're working with a cell population that has been defined previously (by Weissman et al. and others), but making new observations re. liver.

If one can use a given peripheral blood cell to repopulate certain organs, it's the companies that know how to push on the right buttons that will at least have a part of the business??

Too early to judge significance? But fun.
